MEET NIKHIL (NIK) JOSHI

About Nikhil (Nik) Joshi Founder

By the grace of God, I am blessed to be a husband to a caring and giving woman, father to two faithful children, son to loving parents, member of the “sandwich” generation, business owner and a fellow human traveler on the journey of life. Through the years, God has gently reminded me (over and over again) that our true purpose is not to seek recognition or control, but to serve with love and humility. My wife, kids and I have strived to live according to the values we were taught – with integrity, forgiveness, and faith - trusting that each season of life is guided by God’s hand, not our own, and to find meaning accordingly.

From a young age, I felt a stirring to speak up for what felt just and right, even when it was difficult. I often struggled to understand the contradictions I saw between belief and behavior, words and actions. I realize now that God was simply shaping my heart, teaching me to speak truth, but also to listen with compassion. Alongside a longing for authenticity grew a quiet call to provide meaningful service to others.

In college, I hoped to become a physician, believing that service through healing was my life’s calling. When that door closed, I felt lost and disheartened. But what I saw then as failure was, in truth, redirection. The Divine led me to law and business school, where I earned my J.D./M.B.A. with a concentration in Human Resources Management.

For nearly thirty years, I have practiced as an employment and labor attorney. Through the cases and conflicts, I came to see that human pain is rarely only legal; it can also be moral, ethical, emotional, personal and spiritual. The most meaningful moments were not those of victory in legal battles, but of grace in conversation, moments where I was led to walk beside other humans seeking peace and direction, offering an alternative path to restore dignity and righteousness.

Still, there remained a restlessness. I held a yearning to authentically serve in a way that more fully reflects integrity. Challenges juggling life pushed me to seek. And, the pandemic along with the unrelated passing of both my mother and mother-in-law, both women with whom I felt great kinship, deepened that desire. Through the trials, the Divine planted a seed of transformation, calling me to uplift, accompany, guide, and counsel other humans for their greater good.

Today, that calling continues to unfold through the founding of Agape Coaching. I have become certified as a Life Coach through the MindBodyGreen Institute. I am also blessed to be completing formation as an interfaith Chaplain, Spiritual Director and ordained Minister; and, have been similarly graced to be mentored on this journey by my discerning, encouraging Spiritual Director, Reverend Dr. Craig Collemer, and by many other spiritual servant leaders.

For you – our fellow human – the Agape Coaching mission is simple: create space to hear you, see you, and compassionately reflect, reframe and redirect, with the goal of igniting resurrection and renewal through the flame of your higher purpose.
